ACT 2008 Policy on Gifted and Talented Students

The ACT Government Department of Education and Training published a revised Policy on Gifted and Talented Students in 2008. This replaced an earlier policy published in 1998.

NSW DET gifted & talented policy support site

The NSW Department of Education provides an excellent gifted and talented policy support portal, with access for teachers and parents to relevant documents and supporting sites and materials.

Victorian Information on Gifted Education

The Victorian Department of Education and Early Childhood Development has published a large and useful range of information for parents and teachers of gifted children, though does not appear to have published a policy statement.

Tasmania Gifted Students Policy

The Tasmanian Department of Education has published its 6 page 2000 "Policy Statement: Education for Students who are Gifted" and a range of supporting material.

SA 1996 Gifted Children and Students Policy

The South Australia's Department of Education and Children's Services has published its 8 page 1996 "Gifted Children and Students Policy", which includes ten policy statements, and briefly outlines the responsibilties of school managers and teachers.

NT 2006 Gifted & Talented Education Policy

The Northern Territory Department of Employment, Education and Training has published its 12 page 2006 "Policy for the Education of Gifted Students in the Northern Territory" together with a supporting Gifted Education website which provides access to a range of supporting materials.

Qld's 2004 Framework for Gifted Education

Education Queensland published its revised 9 page "Framework for Gifted Education" in 2004. Education Queensland also publishes a range of supporting information on its Learning Place Gifted Education site.

WA Govt Policy on Gifted & Talented Students

The Western Australia Department of Education and Training published their Apr 2004 gifted and talented students policy and related documents on their website.  There is a mandatory policy and separate non-mandatory guidelines (to support the obligations of the gifted and talented policy).
 

NSW Board of Studies Guidelines for Accelerated Progression

The NSW Board of Studies published its 51 page "Guidelines for Accelerated Progression" in 2000, discussing the topics of Giftedness and Talent, Flexible Progression and Accelerated Progression and then particularly the Board of Studies policies on acceleration in the context of the Board’s responsibilities in curriculum development and accreditation of students for the secondary credentials.

NSW DET 2004 policy & Implementation strategies

The NSW Department of Education and Training (DET) published a revised "Policy and Implementation Strategies for the Education of Gifted and Talented Students" in 2004, replacing the first policy published in 1991. The policy and strategies are aligned with the NSW Government policy.
