Members' Library

Tells you how you can use the members' library to find out more about gifted children

You can now search our member's borrowing library online and email a borrowing request!

Our collection of library resources is located at the NSWAGTC office and is available for personal browsing during normal office hours. Please ring to check that the office is open before visiting the library. There is usually only one staff member rostered on each day during school terms and there can be unexpected absences.

These resources are an important source of information for both city and country members. Certain items may only be available as reference items, ie they cannot be borrowed. If office hours are inconvenient or you are a country member, please use the online search and request facility. Items can be posted to members, with return postage at borrower's expense.

Library Loans

• Items are available for loan to current financial NSWAGTC members.
• When borrowing, confirmation of your membership details may be necessary.
• Only three books per person may be borrowed at one time.
• Books are loaned for one month, and can be renewed by phone. However, we will not grant an extension if another member has reserved a particular title.
• There will be a charge for books not returned in a satisfactory condition.

Online Library Database

We have recently built a searchable database of our library resources.  It allows you to search the library resources by title, author and/or subject category. It also links to existing online reviews and allows financial members to request items by email. This database application was completed in December 2002 - please report any bugs or problems you experience.

Suggestions for New Items

The committee will consider purchasing any publication that members might like to request or recommend. Please send in your suggestions (including details of title, author and publisher).

Reviews

Some of the library resources have been reviewed in Gifted and these reviews are listed on this site (with links to the reviews from the online search results). If you would like to review one of these books for the benefit of others please send in your review.
